*Nike plans to unveil a new store in Philadelphia dedicated to its Michael Jordan-branded sneakers and apparel.

The retailer intends to open a Jordan World of Flight store in a historic 7,000-square-foot building, Sports Illustrated reports.

Nike introduced the Jordan World of Flight concept in Milan, Italy, when the first store opened in December 2022. The retailer described the stores as “the future of Jordan retail”: a destination celebrating the legacy and future of basketball culture.”

The second Jordan World of Flight opened in Tokyo in 2023. Third is located in Dubai.

The newest “World of Flight” store in the U.S. will reportedly occupy a two-story building in Philly located at 1617 Walnut St., constructed in 1921.

According to Nike’s application to the Philadelphia Historical Commission, the forthcoming store is “inspired by the intersection of Philadelphia Historical Architecture and Jordan Brand.”

In the application, Nike also noted that “Philadelphia’s Jordan The World of Flight will deliver a timeless, thoughtful designed store that can contribute to the neighborhood and character of the streetscape. The clean design language paired with the materiality and details used throughout achieves a look/feel that will convey a sense of history and permanence.”

The opening date for the Philadelphia location has not been announced.
