*Nicki Minaj is at the center of a new legal battle related to her husband, Kenneth Petty. A German security guard, Thomas Weidenmuller, is suing the entertainer and Petty for assault, The Jasmine Brand reports.

Considering the couple’s lack of a response to his suit, Weidenmuller is asking the court to award him a default payment of $724, 000 in damages, the site stated, citing Radar Online.

The security guards’ suit stems from an alleged incident that took place at one of Minaj’s shows in Germany in 2019. Weidenmuller claimed that while working the concert, a fan rushed the stage.

The action seriously angered Minaj, Radar noted, adding that the person was notably removed immediately. Minaj, who was not harmed in any way, allegedly went backstage to start recording the incident while viciously reprimanding a female staff person.

Seeing what happened, Weidenmuller intervened, choosing a more peaceful action. According to the suit, de-escalation was the last thing on Minaj’s mind as she became even more upset and eventually summoned Weidenmuller to her dressing room. It was there Petty allegedly struck Weidenmuller so hard that he underwent reconstructive jaw surgery.

“Due to the severity of my injuries caused by Petty, I immediately sought medical treatment from the medics present at the venue, who told me that I needed medical care that could only be provided at a hospital…I felt a blinding pain in my head, neck, and face. I could tell in that instant that something was seriously wrong with my jaw” Weidenmuller reportedly wrote in the suit.

“I now have five plates in my jaw and my jaw has not yet been fully reconstructed…The doctors must still insert implants into my jaw as a part of the reconstruction process. In the interim, the doctors have inserted donor bones from a deceased person into my mouth in order to preserve space for future implant,” he added.

Seizing the opportunity, Weidenmuller referenced Minaj’s and Petty’s past, along with their unresponsiveness and Minaj’s alleged intent to cause Weidenmuller harm by instigating the situation as reason he should receive a default judgment,

In 1995, Petty served four years after being convicted on first-degree attempted rape.

“Minaj was aware of Petty’s violent past and intentionally and/or negligently provoked him to violence…Weidenmuller stated in an attempt to use Petty’s case to establish an historic precedence of violence to support his own. “These convictions were in connection with allegations that Petty approached a 16-year-old girl on the street, pressed an object to her back, told her to keep walking, and led her to his residence.”

As of this posting, a decision by a judge surrounding Weidenmuller’s lawsuit has not been reached.
