*Montel Williams responded to rumors of an alleged sex tape involving himself and Vice President Kamala Harris, his former girlfriend.
Williams squashed the online chatter about the explicit tape after an X user with the handle @MattWallace888 claimed a tech insider told him about its existence.
“Wow, I was just informed by my friend, who is the CEO of a large tech company, that there is allegedly a sex tape being shopped around involving Kamala Harris and Montel Williams,” the X user wrote on Monday (Oct 28). “This could break the internet and seriously damage the Harris campaign with just 8 days until the election.”
Williams responded, “Wow, I hear a blogger I’ve never heard of got millions of views claiming someone is ‘shopping’ a sex tape of me [rolling eyes emoji] that will ‘break the internet,’” the former talk show host wrote. “Let’s ‘break the internet’ w/ truth – there is no tape. @KamalaHQ ’s surge clearly has some people worried.”
After Williams clapped back, @MattWallace888 posted: “Thanks for clarifying Montel,” and told his followers “the allegations are false.”
Williams previously addressed a 23-year-old photo of him with Harris that resurfaced when President Joe Biden announced he would not seek a second term and endorsed the VP.
Complex reports that the Kamala/Montel 2001 photo dates back to the Eighth Annual Race to Erase Multiple Sclerosis Benefit at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City in, California. Williams and Harris briefly dated during this time. In July, Williams warned of “an unpleasant reaction” to anyone seeking comments from him about the photo.
“I’ve said what I’m going to say about the thing that keeps trending,” Williams said on X. “My friends in the media should think twice about wasting time on a 20+ year old picture – you will find doing so will earn an unpleasant reaction.”
TMZ reports that Williams previosuly voiced his support of Harris in the presidential election.
“@KamalaHarris and I briefly dated about 20 years ago when we were both single. So what?” Williams said in 2019 during Harris’ first Presidential campaign, per Marie Claire. “I have great respect for Sen. Harris. I have to wonder if the same stories about her dating history would have been written if she were a male candidate?”
