*Those believing friction exists between Kendrick Lamar and Lupe Fiasco will need to put it to rest. Taking to social media, Fiasco took it upon himself to set things straight about rumored issues with Kung Fu Kenny.

“I’m a Kendrick fan for more than his music,” the “Kick, Push” rhymesayer told a fan on X (formerly Twitter). “I like his creativity and conceptualization. And the decisions that he makes. I also like his impact on the culture of Black folks. I like that he inspires Black folks. That’s why I never said I don’t like him.”

“Cus even if I don’t like all his songs or listen to all his songs – and same thing with Drake – I understand their impact into the culture and I would never, ever, ever – because for me it’s us first – ever, ever, disparage,” he continued.

Opening the door, Billboard via MSN noted Fiasco’s urge for the fan to pull out receipts that capture him voicing disdain for Lamar.

“I don’t have a problem with dude,” the “Show Goes On” entertainer stated. “Show me where I’ve explicitly said I don’t like him. Show me that. Then we can move on.”

Although he dispelled any kind of issues with K. Dot, Fiasco did go on record confessing his jealousy of Lamar being in the creative environment his former label, Top Dawg Entertainment, provided for artists.

“One thing that I wish I had. This is me being open and vulnerable that I’ve always looked at like, ‘Man, I wish I had that.’ I wish I had that creative space that they created at TDE, the “Out of My Head” rapper said. “When I say wish I had, I wish I had it back. When we first started rocking, that was our thing.”

Furthering his point, Fiasco provides a bit of context to a 2014 Hot 97 interview he did with Peter Rosenberg.

“I was so happy that those things exist. Even in that Peter Rosenberg interview, where I called Peter Rosenberg a nut-hugger very jovially was that the thing that I do admire and wished I was a part of was that creative piece,” he said.

Fiasco’s comments come amid a busy time for him, with the release of his latest album, the Soundtrakk-produced “Samurai,” which arrived on June 28. Reaching into the year 2018, Billboard referenced remarks made by Fiasco, who expressed that the “Not Like Us” hitmaker was not a “top-tier lyricist.”

“I’ll put it to you like this. K. Dot is not a top-tier lyricist to me and my standards when it comes to punchlines and bars,” he wrote in a series of tweets highlighted by Revolt. “His overall lyrics are good, his stories phenomenal, but punchline entendre lyrically I don’t see it,”

Ultimately, Fiasco apologized to Lamar for raising a ruckus with what he said.

Still, that didn’t prevent Lupe for weighing in bluntly on Kendrick’s infamous verse from Big Sean’s 2013 song “Control.”

“Also the only issue that the world thinks I have with K. Dot and I actually do is that I think his ‘Control’ verse was wack and super overhyped to be a verse claiming you are the best rapper,” he continued. It was very weird. I was told it was just bait, but still.”

Years later, the pot stirred again when Complex compiled a list in April of rappers who have apologized to Lamar after J. Cole issued an apology to the rapper after dropping his dis, “7 Minute Drill.”

“Relax yo,” Lupe clapped back at Complex. “I wasn’t apologizing to him… Keep my name clean…I fear no rapper of any kind or at any time. K dot solid but y’all need to chill lol.”
