*Doja Cat’s natural hair is featured in the cover art for her forthcoming single “MASC,” and her non-Black fans are comparing the texture to pubic hair.

Doja hit up on Instagram Live to respond to the criticism, as it appears some people have forgotten that she is a mixed-race Black woman who does not have European-textured hair.

“My hair is 4C hair, which a lot of you don’t care, that’s fine, but I’m seeing a consistent pattern in my comment section of people saying is my hair pubic hair, is it carpet or is it sheep’s wool,” Doja said in a video statement. “We gotta move forward. Let’s move forward. Let’s grow.”

The critics flooded the comments section of Doja’s “MASC” cover art post, which she captioned: “🦴\🦴\ ASC 4.5.24.”

Watch her reaction to the hair-haters in the X/Twitter post below.

“MASC” marks Doja’s first new single of the year following the release of her fourth studio album, “Scarlet,” in September 2023.

In related news, we reported earlier that Doja is one of the headliners for Coachella 2024, along with Lana Del Rey and Tyler the Creator.

The popular 90s ska band No Doubt is set to reunite for the first time in ten years at the event, which is North America’s largest music festival. The group hasn’t played a show together since 2015.

Other notable artists confirmed for Coachella 2024 include Peso Pluma, Blur, J Balvin, Ice Spice, Sublime, Lil Uzi Vert, Grimes, Victoria Monet, Jon Batiste, Bleachers, Justice, Deftones, and Lil Yachty.

The 23rd Coachella Festival will be held over two weekends: April 12-14 and April 19-21, 2024.
