*Comedian David Lucas said, “Getting canceled ain’t that bad,” in an Instagram post announcing his upcoming shows.
Lucas is catching heat online after several Black audience members walked out of his stand-up comedy performance at the Funny Bone Comedy Club in Manchester, Connecticut when he made a tasteless joke about the 2020 police killing of George Floyd. Lucas seemingly mocked Floyd’s death while trading insults with a heckler.
“And you want to show them the reason why George Floyd got his neck kneeled on,” Lucas said, prompting the audience to gasp in shock.
“Don’t ‘Ooh’ at that joke. It’s just a joke, man. I would’ve never kneeled on George Floyd’s neck. I would’ve shot that n***a,” he added.
Later in the video, as several audience members leave due to the insensitive remark, one attendee tells Lucas… “You need to know about George Floyd before you get yo ass up there talking about him. You really stoop low to be funny don’t you know that.”
Viral video of the moment shows Lucas doesn’t seem phased by the Black attendees leaving, and he shouts, “I’m just warming up.”
“I like Kyle Rittenhouse, too,” he shouted.

After the stand-up show, Lucas turned to his IG account and captioned a photo of him holding a fish, “Getting canceled ain’t that bad.” The post included a few dates for his upcoming shows — see the post below.

In the comments section of The Neighborhood Talk’s Instagram clip of the joke, reality TV star Monice Slaughter wrote, “He clearly h8s black people for not thinking that he’s funny, so he’s learned to cater to pink people. He h8s himself too. That’s why he’s sittin up there lookin like a two ton bag of debris. Bout to bust out that trash bag he got on.”
Another IG user added, “The way Karma coming to visit him whew.”
A third commented, “… that’s exactly why nobody knows who this n*gga is. Some ppl don’t deserve fame.”
