2 Black Gary, IN Teens Earn College Degrees While Still in High School! | WATCH

*We’ve got to give props to 2 Black teens out of Gary, Indiana. They’ve accomplished something special. Something very difficult. Meet Abram Lewis, 17, and Khaya Njumbe, 15.

What makes these two so special and why we are saluting them is the fact that they’ve already earned their college degrees while still in high school, reports WISH-TV.

Yep, let that run through your mind a few times. That’s an extraordinarily big deal, to say the least. Their accomplishment was also celebrated this week in Indianapolis at a Martin Luther King Jr. ceremony attended by Gov. Eric Holcomb, among other state and local dignitaries.

Both teenagers will receive a bachelor’s degree this spring.

Abram Lewis will receive his degree from Purdue Northwest. He’s already received an associate’s degree and plans on going to medical school to become a neurosurgeon. The 17-year-old attends 21st Century Charter School. He simultaneously received credits for both degrees as a result of the way the curriculum was designed.

15-year-old Khaya Njumbe is set to graduate from Ivy Tech this year with three associate’s degrees. He will receive a bachelor’s degree from Indiana Northwest.

If your brain can handle it, read/learn more about these 2 exceptional Black teens here at WISH-TV and here at the Chicago Tribune.
