As we reported previously, their new series “Toya & Reginae” premiered on August 24 on We tv, with new episodes available on popular AMC Networks streaming service ALLBLK every Monday. The six, one-hour episodes follow the ups and downs of Atlanta’s most dynamic mother-daughter duo, Toya Johnson-Rushing and Reginae Carter. The powerful pair are no strangers to the spotlight…every tweet, comment or post they make is dissected on all the hottest blogs, but what their fans see on social media is just scratching the surface,” per the series synopsis.
“On each episode of Toya & Reginae, fans will get to peek behind the curtain and see who they truly are – what’s happening in their love lives, how they balance those relationships along with their exciting and demanding careers, and of course their relationship with each other,” the synopsis continues. “As happy as they appear on social media, in reality, their lives are unpredictable and full of chaos as they navigate their complex family dynamic.”
“I’m so excited to let viewers back into our lives to see what my family has been up to since you’ve seen us last,” said Toya previously in a statement, per Variety.
Speaking to Hollywood Life in August, Reginae was asked whether or not fans can expect her dad, rapper Lil Wayne, to appear on the show.
“I don’t know. You guys will have to see. You have to stay tuned,” she teased. “My dad’s always very supportive in everything I do. I feel like he’s always my number one supporter, always clapping for me, so he’s happy for me.”
Meanwhile, in our exclusive interview with the pair, Toya & Reginae discuss the lessons they have both gained from being an open book with fans. Additionally, Reginae just dropped her latest collection under her fitness line IFITIN and Toya is gearing up to release her next book, which will touch on her wedding and marriage, her childhood traumas, and other personal topics she hopes to set the record straight on and give context.
