Country music legend Deborah Allen Release RCA Catalog via Legacy Recordings.

*“It’s two albums…with bonus tracks,” said Grammy-nominated Country songwriter/singer Deborah Allen about her critically acclaimed RCA catalog albums released through Legacy Recordings titled “Let Me Be the First” and “Telepathy” whose title track is written and produced by Prince in 1987 (under the pseudonym Joey Coco).

When I asked her about the Prince-written song she said, “The Prince record took off but there was politics which led to it being shelved.”

For this re-release of “Telepathy,” Sean Brennan (David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen) remastered the track. There are 27 songs re-released via the two albums to digitalize her legendary catalog. The albums were originally released on RCA. Just in time for the holidays, the project has a bonus track that is Allen’s holiday classic “Rockin’ Little Christmas.” A guitarist and pianist, Deborah Allen was still excited about hosting the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum’s Songwriters Session at the Ford Theatre when we talked.

“Fans were looking for my music (digitally) and couldn’t find it,” Deborah informed me about why the two-album project was launched. “My web designer …he got me together with a lady at Sony, who sent me to their Legacy division. He (Legacy) had so much passion for what we were doing. He had them remastered. There is also a (music) video for ‘Telepathy.’”

Deborah Allen is a legend in the Country music industry as a songwriter writing hit songs for Tanya Tucker, Patty Loveless, Brooks & Dunn, Reba McEntire, LeAnn Rhimes, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Diana Ross, Issac Hayes, Millie Jackson, Sheena Easton, and Fleetwood Mac. Allen received a BMI Millionaire Award for songs written for Janie Fricke (“Don’t Worry ‘Bout Me Baby”) and John Conlee (“I’m Only in It for the Love”) that accumulated over one million U.S. broadcast performances.

As a Country singer, she is celebrating over 40 years since the release of her signature song “Baby I Lied”. She signed to Capitol Records in 1980 and debuted with “Trouble in Paradise”. The single “Nobody’s Fool” from that debut peaked at #24 on the Billboard Chart. She signed to RCA Records in 1983 and released “Don’t Worry ‘Bout Me Baby”. In 1987 Deborah Allen released “Telepathy”. Her most recent albums include “Patsy Cline’s Crazy” and “Blue Collar Baby.” Allen has released 12 albums and 14 of her songs have reached Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart. Her next original release will be “The Art of Dreaming.” www.DeborahAllen.com www.LegacyRecordings.com
