RZA and Cast of ‘Wu-Tang: An American Saga’ Talk Third and Final Season | EUR Video Exclusive

Hulu series

*The third and final season of “Wu-Tang: An American Saga” premieres on Wednesday, February 15th on Hulu, with new episodes streaming every Wednesday.

The series was created by RZA and Alex Tse and portrays a fictionalized account of the formation of the Wu-Tang Clan. The hip-hop group first came together in 1992 with original members RZA, GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, and Masta Killa.

Per the official synopsis: Off the release of their debut album and their continued rise to fame, we follow the Wu-Tang Clan over the course of their five-year plan as they face and overcome different challenges. While each of the members go on separate journeys to figure out where they fit in the music world, RZA struggles to stay on top of things in order to fulfill the promise he made to his Wu brothers. As money, fame, ego, and business threaten to tear the group apart, they must find a way to come together and cement their legacy.

The series stars Ashton Sanders, Shameik Moore, Siddiq Saunderson, Julian Elijah Martinez, Marcus Callender, Zolee Griggs, T.J. Atoms, Dave East, Johnell Young, Uyoata Udi and Damani Sease.

Method Man and Brian Grazer serve as executive producers on the series along with Tse and RZA.

The first season of “Wu-Tang: An American Saga” debuted in 2019. A second season premiered on September 8, 2021. The final episode of Season 3 will air April 5.

Back in a 2021 interview with EUR, RZA explained why he wanted to make “Wu-Tang: An American Saga” a series instead of a film.

“It’s so much, two hours would not be a proper way to tell this story,” he told us. “But also, the journey of Wu-Tang as young men in America, is a journey young men still have to pass through. I think it’s good for us to give them a map.”

When we caught up with RZA recently to dish about the new season, the hip-hop icon explained what aspiring rappers can learn from Wu-Tang’s rags-to-riches tale. He also shared what it means to him personally to re-live his own history to bring 3 seasons of this TV series to viewers.

EUR’s Ny MaGee also spoke exclusively with TJ, Siddiq, Zolee, and Alex about what they hope hip-hop fans take away from “Wu-Tang: An American Saga.” Check out my 3-part interview below.
