Boyfriend of Carlee Russell Confirms She Was Kidnapped | VIDEO

*The boyfriend of Carlee Russell has confirmed what most people speculated about her mysterious disappearance — she was kidnapped.

We reported previously via CNN that Russell went missing after telling a 911 dispatcher that she saw a toddler walking alone on the side of Interstate 459 South. After the call, Russell stopped her vehicle to check on the toddler and called a family member who lost contact with her, though the line remained open, according to the Hoover Police Department.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Russell’s vehicle and some of her belongings – including her phone – but no sign of her or the child, according to police. On Saturday night, the Hoover 911 center received a call that Russell had returned home, Hoover police said in a Saturday news release.

Russell’s boyfriend Thomar Simmons took to Facebook Sunday to share an update, writing: “All I asked from everyone right now is to be respectful of Carlee’s situation. She was literally fighting for her life for 48 hours, so until she’s physically & mentally stable again she is not able to give any updates or whereabouts on her kidnapper at this very moment.”

Simmons added, “I also want to thank the people on social media who has been understanding & respectful about what she’s been through in these past few days. Once again I can’t thank you guys enough for helping us bring Carlee home! God bless you all.”

Carlee’s mother also released a statement on Facebook, saying: “To our media friends, I promise we will speak with you and give a general statement in the near future as this is an ongoing investigation. We consider the media outlets that cared enough to share this story, law enforcement agencies, special investigators, city leaders to be our friends and we will be respectful of all. For everyone that has messaged or called to rejoice with us, we are so grateful for your concern!”

The message continued, “Just as we made a commitment to not entertain negative thoughts during the time our daughter was missing, we surely will not entertain negative thoughts/statements, unvalidated opinions, or sheer ignorance at such a joyous time.”
