*Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell reunited on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, with host KeKe Palmer in a sketch with the duo about their 1990s comedy “Kenan & Kel.”
In the sketch, Palmer, 29, pitches him the reboot of the series titled “Kenan & Kelly,” which also features a cameo from Mitchell. As reported by PEOPLE, Thompson says in a documentary-style confessional: “I should have asked questions. I thought it was gonna be a Jordan Peele-produced streaming series. I would have said yes to Kenan & Kel, but now it’s just Kelly.”
In the skit, Palmer channels Mitchell’s character and reveals her character’s pregnancy with Thompson’s baby. Watch the SNL segment via the YouTube clip above.
“Keke was gunning for an Emmy Award, so she wanted gritty and dramatic moments in it. I thought, ‘That won’t work.’ And I was right!” Thompson says in the confessional.

When Mitchell enters the scene, he claims he’s been away “learning the art of karate.” While showing off his moves, a thief shoots him in the chest.
“Don’t die on me Kel, no! My baby needs his father,” Palmer says before turning to Thompson to drop the bombshell news that “Kel is the father!”
“I slept with him just to hurt you. Why do I hurt the ones I love most?” she adds.
In case you missed it, Palmer announced her pregnancy on the long-running sketch comedy show on Saturday. The actress is expecting her first baby with boyfriend Darius Jackson.
