*Tia Mowry took to Instagram in October to announce her decision to separate from Cory Hardrict. In the divorce papers, she has cited irreconcilable differences among some of the reasons she sought a divorce. She also asked the court to grant joint physical and legal custody of their son and daughter.
She now says she knew the exact moment she wanted to end her 14-year marriage with Hardrict.
Tia made the remarks when she appeared on the “Today” show last Wednesday.
“I knew when I really started to focus on my happiness,” the 44-year-old “Sister, Sister” alum said. “I feel like women, we tend to focus on everybody else’s happiness, making sure that everybody else is OK — meaning our children, our friends, our family — but at the end of the day, it’s about self-love,” the mother of two added.

She further said that when you start to really work on yourself, love yourself, know your value and your worth, all of a sudden, there’s this awakening.
“And it’s not easy. It’s a hard journey, but at the end of the day, I feel like it is so, so worth it,” she pointed out, in conclusion.
Mowry also said that going through therapy and experiencing the losses of relatives also motivated her to come to a decision: “It was all of that together that gave me that ‘aha’ moment,” she said.

Even though she is now divorced from the 43-year-old Hardrict, the “Comfort Kitchen” host still believes the relationship a “success,” even calling the separation a “celebration.”
“I look at it as, like, a curriculum,” she said. “You’re learning, you’re growing, you’re evolving, you’re creating, and I was able to create with Cory some beautiful, amazing children.”
She added that it’s not about staying in something because however long you are in that situation that equals success. Instead, it should be about whether you are happy in that situation because life is really short.
