Freya Allan Shares Ciri’s Journey In The New Season Of ‘The Witcher’ | Watch

In season two of the hit fantasy-adventure Netflix series “The Witcher,” fans will finally get the interaction they have been waiting on! Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan) is finally getting the opportunity to sharpen her physical skills with Geralt (Henry Cavill). The new season begins with the characters heading off to train in Kaer Morhen.

Allan discussed what Ciri will be dealing with and what developments fans can expect.

“Ciri has so much to navigate this season. She carries everything she experienced in season one with her, which is a huge weight,” said Allan. “She’s seen the brutality of the world, she possesses this power which she doesn’t understand, and she doesn’t understand why she has it. She’s working out her situation with Geralt – and with all that combined, she’s trying to find a new identity.”

Allan continued, “she’s uncovering more lies about her family and her past, and where she came from. She sees becoming a Witcher as an escape from all of the lies. The more harsh experiences she goes through emotionally and physically will bring her a sense of numbness. I think that happens when you experience a certain level of loss, and you build up a detachment.”

Season two of “The Witcher” brings death, hidden truths revealed, and new characters. It picks up right after the battle at Sodden Hill. Geralt believes Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) is dead. He reunites with Vesemir (Kim Bodnia), his former mentor and father figure, and also reconnects with his fellow witchers, who don’t trust Ciri. As Ciri pushes herself to become the first female Witcher, it’s revealed she holds an unknown world-threatening power related to a new breed of monsters and could be the key to creating more witchers.

All eight episodes of the new season are available to stream on Netflix now.
