*Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray got emotional after his incredible 50 point outing against the Utah Jazz to force a do-or-die Game 7. The tears weren’t rooted in his performance, but rather the social injustice going on outside the bubble.
After winning Game 1, the Nuggets dropped three straight games against the Jazz before Murray stepped up big in Games 5 (42 points) and 6 (50 points) to extend the series to a final Game 7 on Tuesday.

Murray said he was fueled by his shoes, which had both the faces of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd drawn on them Sunday night. Asked in a post-game interview about the racial inequality the drawings represent, Murray said breaking down, “This is not just in America. This happens everywhere. It doesn’t take one meeting. It takes a few meetings, it takes phone calls, it takes resistance – it’s not going to take one night. We’ve been trying to fight for 40 years. But these shoes give me life.”
