GA Police Search for Car of Sisters Found Dead Under Bridge [VIDEO]

*The families of two sisters, 19-year-old Vanita Richardson and 31-year-old Truvenia Campbell, are aching for answers after the bodies of the women were found tossed from a bridge in Rome, Georgia over a week ago, with bags over their heads.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation continues to search for their car, and for the person(s) responsible for their deaths.

As noted by MadameNoire, an autopsy revealed the victims died via homicide, according to a press release by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

“They had bags over their heads at the time” at the time of discovery, GBI Special Agent Joe Montgomery told reporters. “They’d obviously been dropped from the bridge.”

Local outlet Rome News-Tribune also noted that shotgun shells were located near their bodies.

Investigators said the sisters were in Vanita’s car on May 12 in the hours before road crews discovered their bodies the following morning. The bodies were together on the banks of the Etowah River underneath the east bypass bridge—tossed there. Vanita’s car was gone.

The GBI said Monday that investigators are not ready to disclose if they have an idea, yet, of who might have been with the women, how the women were killed–possibly by two people, or the motive.

And agents are still looking for Vanita’s car, a 1997 Toyota Corolla with a Georgia tag reading RTJ 6295.

“They were very, very close. Very, very close,” said Truvenia Campbell’s mother, Donna Campbell.

“With the help of God, I’m going to be okay,” she noted of her grief.

Campbell said her family wants “answers,” and that justice won’t come until an arrest is made.

“Vanita will be remembered for being a fun-loving, humble, and motivated student who was making strong plans for her future,” a statement from the Armuchee High School district said. “Even throughout the school closures, Vanita’s passing is felt by all. In particular, the staff members whose lives she touched with her caring personality and big heart.”

Anyone with tips that could help in the investigation should call the GBI at 1-800-597-8477.
