*A bus driver in Detroit shared a video railing against a passenger who was not covering her mouth when she coughed, knowing full well that we are in the midst of a global pandemic. Days later, that bus driver, Jason Hargrove, died of complications from the coronavirus.
His March 21 Facebook Live video went viral. Fifty-year-old Hargrove said he felt “violated” after the woman coughed several times on his bus without covering her mouth.
“There’s folks dying out here because of this sh*t,” he said of the coronavirus. “Listen, I’m mad right about now, because that sh*t was uncalled for and I’m trying to be the professional that they want me to be, and I kept my mouth closed.”
On Thursday, the Amalgamated Transit Union announced that Hargrove had died of complications from the coronavirus, adding that he leaves behind a wife.
