*In spite of news reports on Tuesday that he had dropped out of the race, the Oklahoma State Election Board announced on Wednesday that Kanye West has qualified for the state’s general election in November as an independent.

The rapper filed in Oklahoma on July 15 to qualify him to run as an independent on the November ballot, per PEOPLE

West paid the required $35,000 filing fee and also submitted a statement of candidacy.

“Independent presidential candidate Kanye West has qualified for the General Election ballot in Oklahoma,” The Oklahoma State Election Board tweeted.

“This afternoon, we received a properly executed statement of candidacy for Kanye West, along with the appropriate filing fee in lieu of petition,” Oklahoma State Election Board officials told KOCO 5. “Kanye West is now qualified as an independent candidate for president of the United States in Oklahoma and will appear on the general election ballot.”
