Sheree Whitfield Says Mother ‘Disappeared’ to Take Break from Family During COVID-19 Outbreak [VIDEO]

*Shereé Whitfield is opening up about her mom Thelma Ferguson’s shocking disappearance last month without notice.

We previously reported… Sheree’s mother had been missing since March 23, when she was last seen leaving her home in Sandy Springs, Georgia, to go to the bank.

Sheree explained on Instagram at the time that her mother often takes “personal vacations without letting the family know and we respect that side of her,” and posted a plea for Thelma’s safe return.

“This is the longest she has gone without reaching out to anyone from the family or her friends,” Whitfield said.. “Right now we are leaning on God and staying positive and prayerful for her safe return home.”

Eventually, Ferguson turned up “safe & healthy” 18 days later, on April 10.

“Thank you for all the prayers, they WORKED!” Whitfield wrote on Instagram. “My Mom has been found safe & healthy. She is with family now. I couldn’t have gotten through this without your support! GOD IS GOOD!”

She captioned the post, “The power of prayer is UNdeniable!”

During a visit to “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” on Sunday, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star gave fans an update on her 72-year-old mother, noting that she is “doing absolutely amazing.”

“She’s healthy, she’s happy, and she’s just doing good,” Whitfield said, via PEOPLE.

Sheree told Cohen that her mom had been staying with her in the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, but then she just up and left.

“I don’t know, I think we were all getting on each other’s nerves at some point,” she said, adding that her three adult children — Tierra, 34, Kairo, 24, and Kaleigh, 21 — were all at staying at her home too.

“I think she kind of needed some time,” Whitfield said of her mother. “And that’s who she is. She’s unapologetic about it. She don’t feels like she owes anyone [an explanation].”
