*Some sad news to report as we kick off 2020. Nick Gordon, 30, the ex-fiancé of Bobbi Kristina Brown, died of a suspected drug overdose on New Year’s day.
Gordon’s death comes more than four years after Brown’s sudden passing at age 22, after she was found unconscious in a bathtub from an alleged overdose. Gordon, said to be a longtime addict, was held legally responsible for her wrongful death in a civil case, but he never faced criminal charges.
He reportedly had a series of heart attacks after he was rushed to the hospital during a New Year’s Eve celebration, the Daily Mail reports.

“God why did I have to lose my brother on New Year,’ his brother Junior Walker wrote on Facebook. “All I can do is cry,” he added.
In another post, he wrote a lengthier message and shared several photos of Gordon. “New Year’s didn’t have to start like this and you just told me you HAD to see me for New Years but I’m blessed I got to talk to you last night,” he wrote in part. “You will forever be my best friend, nobody will ever take your place.”

“It’s early days but the suggestion is he was taking drugs with friends and he passed out. They drove him to the hospital, took him inside and then left him there,” said an insider.
“Whatever you think of Nick and his lifestyle, it’s terribly sad that his supposed friends just dumped him and drove away.”
Gordon, who was taken in and raised by the late-great Whitney Houston at age 12, previously made headlines after his ex-girlfriend Laura Leal accused him of attacking her on several occasions leading to numerous arrests for domestic abuse and false imprisonment, but she later dropped the charges.
“Laura is absolutely devastated. They were seeing less of each other recently because they wanted some space,” the source added. “But she cared deeply for him and was in a state of shock when she got the phone call.”
Gordon’s brother also confirmed the news to People on Wednesday, saying in a statement, “We are devastated by the loss of my beautiful brother. He leaves a void in the hearts of my family and his friends. Nick’s battle in life was not an easy one. I will be forever grateful that my God afforded a small moment at the very end of Nick’s life, and I was able to hold his hand as he journeyed on.”
