*Mathew Knowles has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and he’s opening up how the disease has impacted his life during a candid chat with Michael Strahan on “Good Morning America.”

In a trailer for the Oct. 2 discussion with the music manager, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Knowles, 67, dishes about how his loved ones have helped him cope with the news.

Breast cancer in males is extremely rare, and the mortality rate is higher for men with breast cancer than for women who are diagnosed with it, per Complex.com.

Knowles is the father of Beyoncé and Solange. As fans well know, he was previously married to their mother Tina for 31 years. Following their divorce, he wed Gena Avery in 2013, and has also fathered two children since separating from Tina.

Tina went on to marry actor Richard Lawson.

Solange previously opened up about reconnecting with her dad when she featured his voice on an interlude for her award-winning album “A Seat At The Table.”

“Obviously, my parents are divorced, and getting the two of them in a room together was a powerful moment in time,” she told Billboard. “They really led the conversation. I felt that because of my yearning to know, they were honest with me.”

Mathew has also noted how proud he is of his daughters’ success. He had this to say after Beyoncé’s visual album “Lemonade” became a huge success: “I think that’s the beauty of her creativity and I think that’s what makes it so special, is that it relates to everyone,” he told E! News.

“Every one of us have been disappointed before and have had to go through the grieving process of anger and, you know, disappointment and then acceptance and forgiveness,” Mathew added. “And I think that’s why this again is touching so many people, because it’s universal. Everybody can relate to it.”

Tune into Matthew’s full interview Wednesday on “Good Morning America.”
