*JAY-Z is suing an Australian book and clothing retailer for using his name and lyrics on products without consent. In court documents filed in the Victorian Federal Court on Friday, Jay argues that the company Little Homie infringed on his trademarks as well as engaged in misleading/deceptive conduct to sell products, Complex reports.
The Little Homie is an online retailer that sells “hip-hop inspired” clothing and books. The picture book “AB to Jay-Z” uses lyrics from rappers including Snoop Dogg and Biggie Smalls to teach the alphabet.
The back cover features lyrics from Jay’s hit song “99 Problems,” reading: “If you’re having alphabet problems I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but my ABCs ain’t one.”

JAY-Z’s legal team asked the company to stop selling the products in 2018, but the situation remained unresolved. Now, Jigga is coming after the sole director of the Little Homie, Jessica Chiha.
His attorneys claim Little Homie is using the rapper’s likeness in a “flagrant, glaring” way. At the time of the post, “AB to Jay-Z” is still available for sale online.
