*John Singleton’s daughter has scored a legal victory in her battle with his estate over her late father’s million dollar fortune.
21-year-old Cleopatra Singleton, who is one of Singleton’s seven children, has been granted a monthly allowance of $3,000 monthly allowance and a one-time fee to cover her semester abroad. Per the order, the college student will receive $2,778 a month and a one-time payment of $4,150, TMZ reports.
The judgement comes a month after Cleopatra filed a request for a monthly allowance. She noted in court docs that her father handled her finances when he was alive and so she needs the money flow to continue to maintain her livelihood.
Singleton’s estate is reportedly worth $35 million and recently acquired an additional $500, 000. The money has yet to be divided amongst the relatives, according to the outlet.

John died in April after suffering a massive stroke. His mother, Shelia Ward, was put in charge of his estate, she and Cleopatra have reportedly been at odds since.
We previously reported, Ward penned a scorching public letter accusing Singleton’s baby mama Rayvon Jones of not doing enough to save the filmmaker’s life upon their return from a trip to Costa Rica.
Singleton’s mother suggested that her son suffered a stroke while taking a bath, and believes no one around tried to help him.
“Only the baby in the bath with you gave you comfort. Fear must have struck when your body began to trimmer again and you couldn’t lift yourself from the sunken tub of water. Will the baby remember those moments?,” she wrote on Facebook. “Didn’t they know to never be placed in a bath after you showed signs of trimmer. And in that moment you knew these people could not help you nor could they have the brainpower to find someone who could. No care that was given to you when your body expressed a distressing need to be shielded from the blood seeping from your cranial vessels.”
Jones slammed Ward’s accusations, noting that she and Singleton believed he came down with a case of food poisoning and that’s why he opted to take a bath instead of calling an ambulance.
