*Dwyane Wade shared several tweets on Wednesday in support of his wife Gabrielle Union amid her controversial departure from “America’s Got Talent.”

The actress was not invited back as judge for the show’s upcoming 15th season after she expressed concerns over racially insensitive moments on set, including a joke guest judge Jay Leno allegedly made that was later edited out of the episode.

According to a Variety report, Union was curbed after speaking out against the “toxic culture”  and  NBC bosses allegedly criticized her hair (saying her styles were “too Black”), and there are whispers she turned down Simon Cowell’s sexual advances.

Union’s dismissal has prompted speculation about how Black folks (including contestants) are treated on the reality series. Some folks are even calling for a boycott on Twitter.

Meanwhile,Dwayne Wade wasted no time taking to Twitter to speak out in support of his wife.

“‘Men lie, Women lie, numbers don’t.’ Over this past year I’ve been approached by many people saying that my wife @itsgabrielleu is the main reason they’ve started watching #AGT or that they love her insight and sincerity on the show,” Wade said of Union.

“So when i got the news that my wife was being fired—my first question was obviously why!?” he continued. “I am still waiting on a good answer to that question. But if anyone knows @itsgabrielleu or have heard of her you know she’s an advocate for our community and culture.”

In a third tweet, he added, “As proud as i were of her being selected as a judge on #AGT— I am even more proud of her standing up for what she stands for and that’s US.”

“So [cheers emoji] to you @itsgabrielleu on not losing sight of the lessons we’ve talked about teaching our daughter and for kicking ass while you were on that platform. Number 1 judge on one of the biggest shows in the world,” Wade wrote.

New York Magazine/HuffPost Contributor Yashar Ali posted a lengthy Twitter thread detailing the events that led up to Union being let go from AGT — read it here.
