Parker Curry Turns Her Viral Moment with Michelle Obama Into Inspirational Book for Kids [VIDEO]

*Parker Curry, the adorable toddler who was awestruck by the painting of Michelle Obama at the National Portrait Gallery, aims to inspire children through her new children’s book, “Parker Looks Up: An Extraordinary Moment.”

“We specifically were coming to see the portraits of Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. She walked past the portrait. And then she stopped and she was frozen,” said Jessica Curry, Parker’s mom.

That moment of the then-two-year-old staring up at the former First Lady was captured by a stranger who shared it online and the photo quickly went viral.

“I feel like the reason she was so awestruck is that she was like she’s this beautiful woman of color and she looks so regal and magical,” Jessica said.

Parker went viral for a second time when she met Michelle for the first time shortly after her insta fame, and Obama shared a video the two having a “dance party.”

After their initial meeting in March 2018, Obama tweeted:  “Parker, I’m so glad I had the chance to meet you today (and for the dance party)! Keep on dreaming big for yourself…and maybe one day I’ll proudly look up at a portrait of you.”

After Parker’s photo of her viewing Obama’s painting went viral, the little girl and the former first lady, have remained in touch ever since and reunited at the Washington, DC, tour stop for Michelle’s best-selling memoir, “Becoming.”

“So excited to finally be able to share our book “Parker Looks Up” with all of you! This book means so much to us and we hope that it inspires Parker’s generation and generations to come,” read a message on Parker’s Instagram page.

Amazon describes Curry’s book as a story which “follows Parker, along with her baby sister and her mother, and her best friend Gia and Gia’s mother, as they walk the halls of a museum, seeing paintings of everyone and everything from George Washington Carver to Frida Kahlo, exotic flowers to graceful ballerinas. Then, Parker walks by Sherald’s portrait of Michelle Obama… and almost passes it. But she stops… and looks up!”
