2019 Afro Ball Slayed with African Attire, Awards, Tamar Braxton + BF and A Moment For Nipsey

*The 2nd annual Afro Ball held at The Alexandria Ballrooms in downtown LA Friday night May 17 was a night not only to remember but a night truly amplified with African culture.

The annual gala was started by Amplify Africa, a Los Angeles entertainment company which aims to create awareness and community with positive messages of Africa and its descendants. The fierce fashion event did exactly that, by celebrating individuals who are putting African culture on the map by excelling in their respective professions of philanthropy, entertainment and technology.

The Formal affair included a reception area with premium open bar, red carpet, dinner, live music and award acknowledgment.

After the VIP open bar reception and red carpet wrapped guest made their way into a beautiful venue with fine dining tables, pamphlets, more wine, service and food celebrating the diaspora.

As everyone finally settled into their seats the celebration started with hosts of the night, influencers Drea and Drew bringing the show to life but the highlight of the night really happened when CEO of Amplify Africa, Dami Kujembala made everyone take a moment of silence to remember businessman, neighborhood leader and rapper Nipsey Hussel.

Tamar Braxton and her boo, David Adefeso, arrived looking bomb.com. Before David presented the technology awards he and Tamar sat at their table smitten with one another and talking with the guest when they approached them.
