*Veteran journalist Gayle King is being praised across social media for her poise throughout her wild R. Kelly interview that aired on “CBS This Morning” on Wednesday.
The network released just a few clips Tuesday evening from her sit-down with the embattled R&B singer, who is charged with ten counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Their conversation turned emotional very quickly and at one point, Kelly broke down in tears, insisting that he’s innocent and talking directly into the camera and proclaiming that he’s “fighting for my f—–g life.”

Gayle’s longtime bestie Oprah Winfrey was among the celebs taking to Twitter to praise her maintain her cool as Kelly exploded on the set.
“Bravo @GayleKing for calm and steady focus during #RKelly interview. Outstanding job!,” Oprah tweeted Wednesday morning. “Tell @CBSThisMorning we want to see the whole thing.”

Acclaimed director Ava DuVernay agreed with the media mogul, adding: “There’s a lot going on in these R. Kelly clips. But one thing that jumps out is how direct, super clear and no frills these questions are by @GayleKing. She’s asking exactly what most of us would ask if we were in her seat. Crazy how refreshing it is. Speaks to how rare it is.”
Actress Yvette Nicole Brown said Gayle represented “Every black woman EVER when faced with the rantings of the abusive, guilty and/or cray. Unbroken. Unbothered. Unbowed. @GayleKing’s Subtext: That’s right, show them, fool.”
Civil rights activist Shaun King also claimed in with: “I have met with some of R. Kelly’s victims. The man is lying. I lost count of the lies he told in this interview with Gayle King. It’s in the dozens of lies. He is a disturbing sociopath.”
“I didn’t do this stuff! This is not me! I’m fighting for my f-ing life!”
