Kevin Darnell Dickson Accused of Stabbing to Death ex-Girlfriend in Church Parking Lot

*Thursday afternoon (04-19-18), the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept. identified a 55-year-old Lynwood, CA man as the prime suspect in the stabbing death of his ex-girlfriend. The incident happened in the parking lot of the famed City of Refuge church (pastored by Bishop Noel Jones) in Gardena, CA.

While asking the public for help in locating the wanted man, authorities warn that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Kevin Darnell Dickson is suspected of killing 50-year-old Patricia Harrison, who was also a resident of Lynwood, about 7:25pm, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

NBC4LA reports that deputies from the Compton Station were sent to the location to investigate a report of an assault with a deadly weapon and found Harrison on the ground in the parking lot, suffering from multiple stab wounds, Schrader said. Harrison was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The weapon used to kill the woman has not been recovered. Harrison had gone to the church for its weekly Bible study. The report quotes deputies saying the woman’s breakup with Dickson may have led to her fatal stabbing.

Dickson is believed to be suicidal and should not be approached, according to the sheriff’s department, which says he may be driving either a silver 2003 Jaguar sedan with the California license plate 5XZP532 or a dark blue 2010 Mercedes-Benz two-door vehicle with the California license plate 7WZP946.

Investigators released a photo of the suspect and asked anyone who has information regarding his whereabouts to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500 or dial 911.

Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling (800) 222-TIPS.
