The idea of the IRS going after entertainers and rappers included, is nothing new. Just ask DMX, Lil Wayne, Mary J Blige, R. Kelly, Fat Joe, Lil Kim, and Nas. They’ve all been touched by “The Tax Man.”
So, with that history in place, you’d think that other rappers would not want to be in that position. Well, one in particular, Flavor Flav, also finds himself being targeted by the government.
Apparently Flav’s adventure in reality TV is the cause of his money woes.
According to lien papers acquired by Bossip, the Public Enemy hype man owes $3.1 million in back taxes. $1.4 million of that debt was accumulated when Flav was filming the second season of “Flavor of Love” in 2007. The total amount, $3,185,860.18, was amassed throughout ten years, 2005-2015. He was hit with a lien for $1 million in 2012 for the same reasons.
Here’s the bottom line. If Flav continues to ignore the lien, the IRS can legally seize his home and garnish his wages.

On Thursday morning the “Idols Become Rivals” rapper took to Instagram to let his followers know “ain’t nothing like home.” The 42-year-old was previously released from a Florida-based hospital on Monday (Mar. 5).

TMZ reported that an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machine (ECMO) was used to assist the function of Ross’ lungs and heart. Past articles stated a case of pneumonia possibly led to a heart attack. Ross’ health battles have been documented in the media since 2011. Billboard reported that then 34-year-old suffered a seizure on a flight that led him to cancel a performance in Memphis.
