*It’s gotten to the point that we’re no longer surprised to hear that “Black Panther” has broken another movie box office record. The incredible film’s latest feat is passing James Cameron’s ‘Titanic’ on Saturday to become as the third top-grossing movie of all time at the North American box office.

On Friday, “Black Panther” finished with a domestic total of $659.3 million, just shy of the $659.5 million grossed by “Titanic,” which hit theaters in late 1997, reports THR.

Meanwhile, around the world, “Black Panther” has grossed $1.29 billion, ranking as the No. 10 title of all time.

The film — unprecedented in being a big-budget studio tentpole featuring a virtually all-black cast — stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther alongside Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis.

The story, described as a tale of black power and black pride in addition to its superhero themes, follows T’Challa as he is sworn in as king of Wakanda, a cloaked, technologically advanced nation in Africa that is home to the exotic metal vibranium, the source of Black Panther’s powers.

As you can see above, in a new action-packed “Avengers: Infinity War” trailer, would you believe Wakanda is the focus?

The promo, which debuted today (04-07-18), features Wakandans preparing for some sort of battle, with the people of the fictional African nation chanting throughout.

“Today we do not fight for one life, we fight for all of them,” T’Challa/Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) says at one point.

Letitia Wright’s Shuri (technological genius of Wakanda and sister to Black Panther) is also seen engaging in a fight.

“Avengers: Infinity War” is directed by the Russo brothers and assembles a large swath of the Marvel universe, including Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). The gang unites to fight Thanos (Josh Brolin), who vows to destroy half of the universe, reports THR as well.

“Avengers: Infinity War” opens in theaters a week earlier than first expected, on April 27, as opposed to the first week of May.
