*A nurse at a Missouri hospital lost her job after sharing an image online of herself in blackface as Beyoncé for Halloween.
Shelbi Heenan posted the photo of what many are calling her “racist costume” to her Facebook account on Monday and it shows her alongside her boyfriend, also in blackface, dressed as Jay-Z, KCTV reported.
The photo quickly went viral and when her bosses at St. Luke’s hospital in Lee’s Summit saw it, they immediately kicked her to the curb and released a statement saying Heenan was no longer an employee.

“On Monday afternoon, Saint Luke’s Health System became aware of a Saint Luke’s East Hospital employee who posted photos on personal social media accounts of her and another individual dressed in blackface for what appears to be a Halloween event,” read the statement.
“This information was shared with appropriate health system personnel and an investigation was initiated immediately. While it is against Saint Luke’s policy to comment on specific personnel matters, we can confirm that this individual is no longer a Saint Luke’s employee. Saint Luke’s is deeply committed to our culture of diversity and inclusion. It is fundamental to who we are as an organization and we vigorously protect it on behalf of all our patients and employees and expect those who represent us to do the same,” the statement continued.
News of Heenan’s seemingly poor choice in costume arrives a week after Megyn Kelly‘s controversial comments about blackface.
The former NBC host questioned whether it’s truly racist for white folks to wear blackface on Halloween and noted that it was “OK” when she was growing up.
Just like Heenan, Kelly was given the boot.
