*Jeannie Mai’s ex-husband Freddy Harteis announced in April that he and his new girlfriend were expecting. The news came just six months after he and “The Real” host finalized their divorce after 10 years of marriage.
While many women have a hard time accepting that their ex has moved on so quickly, Mai feels the opposite; admitting that a successful marriage is the best thing that never happened to her.
On today’s show, Jeannie admitted living happily ever after would have never made she or her ex-husband happy, which is why she has no issue with him moving on — even if that means seeing him have a child with another woman just months after their divorce.
Jeannie says she’s grateful for the split — and glad to see her ex becoming “the man I always knew he could become.”

*In related news, Ava DuVernay has set a record with her Disney film “A Wrinkle in Time.”
After only 101 days in theaters, the movie has grossed over $100 million at the box office. This sets a record, as DuVernay is the first African American female director whose film grossed $100 million and only the 13th black director to do so.
DuVernay previously broke a record in March when “A Wrinkle in Time” grossed over $33 million opening weekend. With Ryan Coogler’s “Black Panther” at number one and Ava’s film at number two, it marked the first time two films helmed by black directors dominated the top two spots.
DuVernay hit up social media to thank Disney for believing in the project.
“Thanks to @Disney for believing in the film from Day One to Weekend 15. Could have easily written it off. They never did. And thanks to all the kids and families who’ve continued to see the film in theaters. Tesser well. Xo”
