D.L. Hughley: No Real Prison Reform Will Occur Under Trump [Watch]

*D.L. Hughley won’t be giving Donald Trump any praise for commuting the sentence of Alice Marie Johnson, as the pardon does not make up for appointing Attorney General Jeff Sessions (for example), who has called for harsher prison sentences for people accused of selling drugs.

“I think that when you pardon one black person, but you have set rules in place… that send more black people to jail for exactly the same situation she was in, it’s three-card monte,” he said in an interview with TMZ (see clip above).

“He decided that, ‘I’ll do something that makes people think I’ve done something.”

When TMZ caught up the comedian leaving Mastro’s in Bev Hills Wednesday night, he said Trump commuting Johnson’s sentence essentially amounts to nothing.

“I’m extremely happy that she’s free,” he said of Johnson. “But there are hundreds of thousands of people in that exact same position, are you going to free them all? Or just the ones who can get us a photo op?”

D.L. also thinks Alice and Kim Kardashian were simply a good photo op for the former “Apprentice” star.

“Trump just commuted her sentence because of a meeting with Kim Kardashian (West),” Stephen Colbert joked on the “Late Show” Wednesday. “So executive clemency is now just a reality TV show.”

Meanwhile, sources close to the situation tell TMZ that Kim and her team are working to arrange a meeting with Alice that could happen as early as this week.
