*Rihanna’s new lingerie line Savage X Fenty launched this morning (May 11), just hours after a random stranger broke into her Los Angeles-area home and made himself comfortable in an overnight stay. He has since told authorities that his intent was to have sex with the singer, but not by force.
Thankfully, RiRi was not home when authorities were called to the house Thursday morning. According to TMZ, cops were alerted of a potential intruder on suspicion that her alarm had been tampered with.
Upon arrival, they encountered a man who appeared to have stayed the night. Cops ordered him to come outside, and he did … but had to be tased while being detained according to TMZ. It’s unclear what exactly led to the tasing.
The intruder, later identified as 26-year-old Eduardo Leon of Orange County, was arrested for felony stalking, residential burglary and trespassing. (Leon reportedly broke into another home May 4 thinking it was Rihanna’s, and that’s why he was arrested for stalking.)
According to TMZ, Leon entered after somehow disabling her alarm system. During his overnight stay, the man got real cozy … charging his phone and even unpacking his bag.
He’s currently being held on $150,000 bail.
Meanwhile, today marks the debut of her Rihanna’s lingerie line Savage X.
The collection of 90 different styles, which she celebrated in a NYC pop up shop Thursday night, include bodysuits, corsets, rompers, jumpsuits, robes and accessories…as well as crops, handcuffs, satin restraints, eye masks and garters.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, she’s branding Savage X as inclusive in terms of size, affordability, color and use. Bra sizes range from 32A to 44DD, with bralettes, undies and sleepwear going up to 3XL. Everything is less than $100, with undies starting at $14.50 and bras at $39. Also, noting the difficulty of finding the right nude for black women, Savage X features several shades of nude.
“We want to make people look good and feel good,” Rihanna says. “We want you to feel sexy and have fun doing it.”
Rihanna has divided the collection into four capsules: On The Reg (basics), U Cute Lace (lace, feminine), Damn (sexy, garters, bodysuits) and Black Widow Risqué (ultra sexy, half cup bras, open back bikinis).
She previewed Damn on her Instagram, showing off a dark corset, garters and pumps from the collection.
Rihanna previously opened up about the brand’s body positive message in Vogue, while discussing her body shamers. “You’ve just got to laugh at yourself, honestly. I mean, I know when I’m having a fat day and when I’ve lost weight. I accept all of the bodies,” she said. “I’m not built like a Victoria’s Secret girl, and I still feel very beautiful and confident in my lingerie.”
After last night’s launch, Rihanna took to Instagram this morning with gratitude.
