Weekend Watch: ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Gets ‘Black Panther’ Magic Boost

Avengers going into battle in ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’

Avengers: Infinity War,” with the help of characters from “Black Panther” will be, by far, this year’s biggest box office hit. The “Black Panther” magic boost is the gift that keeps on giving.  Besides the smashup of just about every Marvel member, “Infinity War” has all the necessary elements needed to captivate moviegoers.

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will delight in the non-stop action. But some of the long winded, extensive fight scenes border on the law of diminishing returns.

The witty lines and humor is a major part of the appeal. Evil villain Thanos (Josh Brolin) takes audiences to some dark places and comic relief is a great way of bringing them back to a sunnier space. One thing you can say about Thanos is that he is not deceptive. He lets it be known he wants all six magical stones so he can take over the universe, while killing a major portion of the population.

In an effort to stop Thanos, the Avengers band together. The good part about seeing a film with a regular audience is that you can get the pulse of the theatergoers. When the Avengers went to Wakanda to ask King T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) for help, the crowd roared.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, cast include Chris Evans, Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemworth, Chris Pratt, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johanssen, Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Tom Hiddleston, Elizabeth Olsen, Karen Gillan, Idris Elba, Danai Gurira, Dave Bautista, Winston Duke, and Letitia Wright.
