*National Signing Day did not go well for Jacob Copeland.
With his mother by his side, the four-star wide receiver sat at a table with three hats before him – Alabama, Tennessee and Florida. His mom was sporting a Tennessee knit hat and an Alabama shirt, while other people surrounding him were in Tennessee gear. Apparently, no one thought Florida was in the running.
But Copeland chose Florida, which caused a stunned reaction among those standing around him and led to an instant viral moment when his mother, apparently disgusted with her son’s decision, got up and just walked off without saying a word.

The ESPN announcing crew asked Copeland who about the identity of the woman who left. He answered the question straightforwardly, saying that it’s his mother and that he didn’t know why she left, but that he felt good about his decision.
The mother eventually came back, gave her son a hug and signed the Letter of Intent.
