*Rapper Kendrick Lamar will head to Atlanta next month to rock the halftime show at the College Football Playoff national championship game.
This is the first year the CFP title game will include a Super Bowl-style halftime show, according to Billboard. But Lamar won’t be performing from inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where the game will be played.
The seven-time Grammy winner will take the stage at Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park as part of ESPN’s halftime coverage, while school bands will perform for the crowd inside the stadium during halftime.
Lamar, 30, will run through a medley of his hits, ESPN said in an announcement Tuesday. His latest album “Damn” has been nominated for seven Grammy Awards.
