*Jada Pinkett Smith is denying recent claims from Leah Remini that she is a Scientologist.
Remini, an ex-Scientologist who now has a tv show dedicated to stopping the religion, said in a recent interview with The Daily Beast, “I know Jada’s in. I know Jada’s in. She’s been in Scientology a long time.”
Pinkett Smith took to Twitter Tuesday to shut all of this talk down.
“I recently lit Shabbat candles with Rabbi Bentley at Temple Sinai… but I am not Jewish,” Pinkett Smith responded, leading up to her tweet about Scientology that confirmed, “I have studied Dianetics, and appreciate the merits of Study Tech… but I am not a Scientologist.”
Pinkett Smith also tweeted of her exploration of other religions: “I have prayed in mosques all around the world… but I am not Muslim,” “I have read the Bhagavad Gita… but I am not a Hindu,” and “I have chanted and meditated in some of the most magnificent temples on earth… but I am not a Buddhist.”
She concluded: “I practice human kindness, and I believe that we each have the right to determine what we are and what we are not. NO ONE ELSE can hold that power.”
