Beyoncé Requests Extra Protection During Blue Ivy Trademark Deposition

*Earlier this year, Beyoncé attempted to trademark Blue Ivy’s name to launch a series of products, but was challenged by wedding planner Veronica Morales, who owns company called Blue Ivy.

She started her company three years before Beyonce’s kid was born, and had already a trademark on lock.

Bey’s trademark was originally filed by the former vice president of her company, BGK Trademark Holdings, Jonathan Schwartz. Beyonce’s legal team requested to have the case thrown out, but a judge has granted Morales’ motion to hear testimony from Schwartz regarding the issue.

Morales recently served Beyoncé with a notice to take her deposition. Now, as both all sides prepares to face off in court, documents obtained by The Blast reveal that Beyonce’s attorneys are demanding a heightened protective order to minimize the intrusive use of extensive security for herself and the venue.

They want a protective order barring details made public about the time and location for her deposition.

Beyonce’s legal team are aiming to “reduce the dangerous pandemonium that so often marks Mrs. Carter’s public appearances.”

She also wants to make sure details about her relationship with Jay-Z, her children, and her parents remain confidential.

The request has not yet been ruled on.
