*Chance the Rapper celebrated his 24th birthday on Sunday (April 16) with a party that doubled as a fundraising event for his charity SocialWorks.
According to Page Six, the party raised over $100,000 for the cause, which focuses on the empowerment of the youth through arts, education, and civil engineering. Tickets were reportedly being sold last week from $100-$2500.
Ticket holders got the chance to see Chance in action along with performances by Ludacris and T-Pain.
“The night was a huge success with Chance’s ability to rally the community to donate for a great cause,” said managing partner of Studio Paris, R.J. Melman to Page Six. “We are proud to play a part in it and are honored to have been chosen by Chance as the place to throw his party.”
In addition to SocialWorks, Chance launched the New Chance Arts and Literature Fund last month to assist Chicago public schools. His initiative came shortly after he made a $1 million donation to his hometown’s public school system.
Highlights from Chance’s birthday party from Page Six:
Chance’s birthday began with a private reception at il Porcellino, a casual-chic Italian restaurant, where the rapper and friends enjoyed food, cocktails and a one-of-a-kind birthday cake, a source told us.
The tiered white, green and red dessert was decorated with what appeared to be french fries and chicken wings cascading down the side and paired with a Mistic drink.
The source added that the birthday boy “spent the night enjoying himself with friends and fans at his table” at Studio Paris.
The crowd was surprised with a musical treat when T-Pain and Ludacris asked Chance to join them on stage to perform “All I Do Is Win.”
