*Holy crap! This is beyond horrible. In China at what’s called a safari park, a woman was eaten alive and another seriously injured after they got out of a car in a tiger enclosure. The unfortunate event was not only witnessed by other park visitors, but was also captured on video.
CCTV footage of the attack shows that a tiger approached a woman less than 15 seconds after she left the car she was in. The incident happened at the Badaling Wildlife World, near the Great Wall of China. The tiger then attacked her and dragged her off.
Sohu, a Chinese news site, reported that the family – one older woman, a younger woman, a child and a man – were in the park, just over an hour north-west of Beijing, on Saturday.
The details are kind of sketchy, but Chinese media reports say a younger woman and a man are said to have had an argument, at which point the (younger woman) stormed out of the car. The older woman then followed her out – and was instantly attacked by the Siberian tiger.
The family-of-four were driving themselves around the wildlife park (pictured in 2010) when the man and the woman had an argument, according to the reports.
The 6,000 acre park, which allows people to either drive themselves or join a tour, tells people not to leave their vehicles at any point.
The family was eventually rescued by Badaling’s staff, but there was nothing that could be done for the older woman.
The younger woman was seriously injured, an official confirmed.
Interestingly, there was no mention of the incident on the park’s website or social media account. A post on its microblog said that it was closed due to heavy rains.
The park has had at least one previous tiger attack, reports Sohu, noting that a security guard was mauled to death in August 2014.
