*Janet Jackson, pregnant with her first child at age 50, has been put on “bed rest” under doctor’s orders as she closes in on her due date, according Us Weekly.
“She’s where all of her doctors are,” a source told the publication. “But she had taken her mother out to lunch a few weeks ago.”
The latest development in her pregnancy comes after the mom-to-be reportedly experienced complications. An insider for E! said: “[Janet] is aware of complications, but as of now doctors say she is OK.”
Jackson announced in April she was taking time off from her Unbreakable World Tour to start planning a family with her billionaire husband Wissam Al Mana, 41. Jackson hasn’t made any public appearances since. She was last seen in public in Los Angeles in July.
“My husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour,” Jackson told fans in a video message she posted on Twitter.
“Please, if you can, try and understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor’s orders! But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.”
It is not known where Janet is staying while on bed rest, but the singer reportedly has several homes and her husband has properties overseas. The Qatari businessman manages 55 companies that include fashion, media, engineering and real estate.
Jackson secretly wed Mana in 2012, however she did not confirm the news until one year later. It is the singer’s third marriage.
