*James Corden has his wildly popular Carpool Karaoke, and now Spike TV has bitten the concept with its upcoming special “Caraoke Showdown,” hosted by Craig Robinson.

Unlike Corden’s segments for “The Late Late Show,” which features famous singers in the passenger seat belting both their favorite, and their own songs, “Caraoke Showdown” will feature Robinson picking up unsuspecting contestants to play a karaoke-inspired game show.

During various rounds of game play, contestants must belt out their favorite tunes, finish the lyrics or act out songs for cash. Celebrity guest appearances will add an element of surprise as the contestants never know what to expect next.

“Caraoke Showdown” comes from Howie Mandel’s Alevy Productions and is set to debut as a half-hour special later this year, but it’s a safe bet that if successful it will become a series, notes The Hollywood Reporter.
