*To the Nashville purists in country radio who are criticizing the comparison of Beyonce’s “Lemonade” track “Daddy Lessons” to a country song, country star Blake Shelton says you can kiss him where the sun don’t shine.

“People that criticize can kiss my a**. That’s what I say,” the singer told ET Monday backstage at his other gig, The Voice. “I can’t believe people that don’t contribute to music that criticize music, it just blows my mind and Beyonce — tell them to kiss that a**, is what I would do.”

As previously reported, a number of country radio folk spoke out about “Daddy Lessons.” Alison Bonaguro, a critic for Country Music Television, wrote that “some yee-haws, a little harmonica and mentions of classic vinyl, rifles and whiskey” does not constitute a country song.

“All of the sudden, everyone’s acting like she’s moved to Nashville and announced that she’s country now. Just because of this song ‘Daddy Lessons,’” she wrote of the Texas native’s tune, according to ET. “It doesn’t sound like a country song to me, she didn’t cut it at a studio in Tennessee, and it certainly wasn’t written by a group of Nashville songwriters.”
