R.Kelly Accused of Screwing Promoter Out of $500k

R. Kelly

*R. Kelly is being accused of playing a concert promoter shady by refusing to payback a $500k advance for a failed concert tour, exclusively reports. Now the company has headed to federal court demanding the judge order the controversial singer pay up.

Swervo Entertainment Group filed a federal lawsuit against Kelly, his company RSK Enterprises and Kelly’s lawyer, Linda Mensch, in Illinois court. The lawsuit explains how earlier this year, Swervo entered into negotiations with R. Kelly in which they would be granted the exclusive rights to promote and produce a series of concerts featuring the singer. In exchange he would be paid per concert.

The company paid the singer an advance in the amount of $500,000 for the concerts. The wire was sent to a trust account per Mensch’s instructions. They believe Mensch transferred the funds to the singer, and when talks fell through and no agreement was reached, the company demanded the return of the $500k from R. Kelly, but he refused to pay it back.
