*A new timeslot for Halle Berry’s sci-fi series “Extant” has boosted its ratings.

CBS moved it back an hour on Wednesdays, from 10 p.m. to 9 p.m., and it made a huge difference in the ratings. According to Deadline.com, the struggling drama saw a 17% jump among adults 18-49 from last Wednesday’s 10 p.m. episode, which was a series low.

While Berry has no intention of giving up film – she has “Kidnap” hitting theaters in the coming months – the actress told the Comic-con crowd this month that TV offers more “quality work” for women of a certain age…and a certain race.

“TV is the new frontier,” Halle told the audience at her “Extant” panel. “The best writing is on television. There are great characters for women and for women like me – my age group, my ethnicity. I felt like to really go do some quality work, which I was finding it maybe hard to do in the film world, that I would go to TV and be able to do what I love to do, and that’s play great, complicated characters.”

Below, Berry says she hopes to continue balancing both TV and film projects:

“Extant” airs at 9 p.m. on CBS.
