*Social media has been exposing various retail secrets, including those in the beauty industry. Ulta staffers have shared videos showing how opened or returned cosmetics are typically thrown away to prevent contamination risks.
In a viral TikTok video, content creator Camdeion (@realcamdeion) highlights that sealed items are discarded if they fail to sell. The clip focuses on Wyn Beauty’s Skin Tint, a product from Serena Williams’ makeup collection. Camdeion, along with his co-worker Bella, show two boxes, one filled with unopened products and another containing empty containers.
“So this is what we do when y’all don’t buy the products,” Camdeion says in the clip. “We have to damage it out.” He then questions why the Wyn items are still sitting in the store. “Y’all do not come here and buy this Wyn Beauty,” he adds. “Because, like, it’s still here. Why is it still here?”

According to Camdeion, the skin tint had been discounted in an attempt to move inventory, but it still wasn’t selling. “Because, like, girl, y’all not coming to buy Serena Williams stuff…. And it’s on sale to the first of the year, honey,” he says. “And this is a skin tint. That’s what it’s giving.”
Wyn Beauty launched earlier this year with 91 shades across 10 products, priced between $18 and $29, and is sold at more than 600 Ulta stores nationwide. Serena Williams previously said, “I’m so excited to introduce WYN BEAUTY to the world,” describing the brand as makeup designed to move with an active lifestyle after six years of development.
