*Of the Mazda fleet, so far, my favorite has been the CX-70 Turbo S Premium Plus for a few reasons including its super smooth and zippy ride, the interior design, and the space!
Plus, it’s super versatile and can take you on a road trip, camping, or on a lux date night with your honey. Let’s get into it.
Design & Features: One of my favorite features is the panoramic sunroof, which is available in the entire SUV series. The light just flows in and brightens up the cabin.
Mazda didn’t skimp on the great features for both the driver and passengers including dual climate control, adjustable second-row seating, and leather seating.
In this particular model, I loved, loved, loved the color contrast with the caramel-colored upholstery with suede paneling throughout against the black is a primo combination. Although, I did consider the extra care one might need to take with the suede.

Like the CX-90, the CX-70 also includes an extended lever for temperature control, which isn’t my favorite thing in the world. To adjust the temperature, a user taps the lever up or down. I think the biggest challenge with this design is that the tapping can easily become distracting as a driver is incrementally tapping up or down to the perfect temperature change. With a dial, the right temp can quickly be reached, while the tap can feel a little bit tedious.
The CX-70 features only a second row with a ton of rear cargo space at 39.6ft with second row seats upright, making it easy to pack those shopping bags, or camping gear with a car full of friends. Plus, with plenty of space for passengers, everyone gets to ride in comfort.
The Drive: Previously I drove the CX-90 and was highly disappointed in the drive. But the CX-70 drove like its own class! It was a smooth ride, no matter the dips and potholes in the road. It was a very pleasant ride. I also loved the way the vehicle picked up speed with no issues. As soon as the gas was hit, we were off and up to speed.
I think that’s the perk of choosing a Turbo CX-70 over others. Additionally, the vehicle is the same size as the CX-90, just without the third row, giving you more cargo space.
Regarding fuel economy, you can bet on getting at least 25 mpg combined, but this varies depending on the trim. The CX-70 is offered in various trims including hybrid.
Overall, the Mazda CX-70 is one of my favorite Mazda experiences and I’d love to drive it again. It looks good and includes lots of space. It delivers a luxe feel and a great drive for both drivers and passengers.
MSRP $40,445 (starting)
MPG: 25
