*AnnaSophia Robb and Aaron Pierre emotionally embodied their roles in Rebel Ridge! Their acting performance was exceptional and viewers will sigh and shout along with their characters – Terry Richmond (Pierre) and Summer McBride (Robb).
The narrative is fresh, informative, and intriguing, plus the visuals are captivating – the close-up frames of Pierre are notable.
But the flow of the film is too slow – with a run time of over two hours, 20 minutes could have been cut. And although the writing is lacking, check out the flick for the storyline and actors – maybe throw a very cutesy watch party for two.
Robb, Pierre, and crime drama fans will be very entertained and very engaged in the Netflix action thriller. We caught up with the co-stars to talk about assets, accents, and adroitness.

Q: If you could seize something from one another what would you seize and why?
ASR: I want a beautiful British accent! Or would I want [your] physical prowess? I think it would be physical prowess. I remember reading the script and thinking, Aaron is going to be tired! These characters are so nuanced, and [the script] marries really tough things to unpack, like civil asset forfeiture and corruption with this high-velocity action. Every day, Aaron showed up physically ready and game. The headspace you have to get into to do these physical scenes multiple times…exertion! He killed it! Plus, it was cool to watch. So, I would like to seize your physical prowess.
AR: I would seize AnnaSophia’s grace and her dress sense. She knows how to put things together in a way that is difficult to achieve, but she makes it look effortless.

Q: What did you know about civil asset forfeiture before filming these characters?
AR: I knew a minimal amount. I knew it was technically legal, and I also knew there was a lot of controversy surrounding it. And then, of course, when embarking on this journey, I discovered a whole lot more about the nuances and the details of that.
ASR: I had heard the term, but I wasn’t as familiar with it. My character does an excellent job of explaining. It’s one of the best scenes I’ve ever read, let alone performed…that’s what the film hinges on, this concept, where law enforcement is able to seize your property and hold it hostage, and the individual has to sue the government in order to get it back. I watched a documentary about it, and it was harrowing.
