The new entity, ROC Nation Distribution, aims to provide artists with more freedom and opportunities in both technology and the music industry, AfroTech reports.
“The formation of ROC Nation distribution is a natural transition in the music space,” the press release states.
“The mission is to support and empower independent artists while providing them the tools and services to distribute their music. All artists signed to Roc Nation Label will join and benefit from the new ROC Nation distribution structure,” the statement continues.
“The music industry is undergoing a significant transformation,” the press release mentions, per AfroTech. “The rise of direct music distribution channels, combined with the influence of social media, has reshaped the traditional landscape. These developments have created a direct connection between artists and consumers, empowering artists to take greater control of promotion, marketing, creative direction, and business development.”

The news release states: “ROC Nation distribution is a hybrid, offering a unique blend of services. Artists who partner with ROC Nation distribution are independent, retain ownership of their master’s and creative control of their art. Artists also receive data analytics from a proprietary dashboard and have the ability to opt into various services across the company. We will sign all artists in all genres around the world.”
As Hip Hop DX reports, Roc Nation functions as a record label, management company, and partner with the NFL for the Super Bowl halftime show. The label features artists like J. Cole, Rihanna, and Jay-Z, while also managing talents such as A$AP Rocky, Megan Thee Stallion, and Alicia Keys. Additionally, Roc Nation operates a sports agency representing athletes like Kyrie Irving, Saquon Barkley, and LaMelo Ball.
Last year, Roc Nation took out full-page ads in multiple publications about its NYC casino plans.
“A gaming license is going to be awarded to New York City,” the letter begins, Complex reported. “A bill was passed in the state legislature confirming it. The question is: which applicant will get the license? Some conflicted parties have attempted to spread misinformation, so we wanted to speak to you, New York City, directly.”
We reported previously that Jigga joined a group of investors to open a casino in Times Square.
“New York is the epicenter of culture. We have the opportunity to create a destination at the heart of the true crossroads of the word,” the rapper and entrepreneur said in a statement. “My partnership with SL Green and Caesars has all the promise and commitment to economic opportunity, growth and enrichment for the community and everyone that visits the Empire State.”
The Roc Nation ads were published in the New York Post, the New York Daily News, and Amsterdam News on Thursday.
“Caesars Palace Times Square will benefit all of New York—the hotel and restaurant workers in the area, retailers and surrounding neighborhoods,” the letter states. “Our bid commits $115 million for diverse theater programs that include daycare for Broadway workers and their families.”
